Welcome!

Gerry’s Hostel is situated along the most scenic railway in Britain, right on the NC500, making it
a perfect location for hill walkers to stay whilst climbing the nearby mountains, or as a stop off point for those travelling along the North Coast 500.

A quirky, rustic and cosy base which is full of character!

The hostel is perfect for those who need a simple and relaxing base with all of the basics you could need to kick back in while climbing the various surrounding Munro’s.

The hostel is a perfect base for those hoping to take on the challenge of The Cape Wrath trail – an unmarked route which runs through the very wild and rugged terrain of the Scottish highlands – which is ideally situated at Craig level crossing on the A890.

Map Ref: NH037493 – 95 miles north of Fort William or 50 miles west of Inverness.

2 miles east of Achnashellach Station.

On Cape Wrath trail, 1km from Coulin Pass and on T.G.O. challenge route, 200m from Glen Uig track, linking these two sections of Old Drove Road (from Dundonel in the north-west Highlands to Pitlochry in the south-east) at Craig level crossing.

There are 20 nearby peaks over 2500ft and some low level walks by Strath and Glen, all of which can be easily directed to either by the various maps available in the hostel or by asking the host .

The hostel has plenty of space indoors and out with a dorm and 2 family rooms so 20 people can sleep comfortably. The generously sized common room is a space for all who stay to chill out and warm up in front of the wood burning open fire after a long day hiking! There is also a selection of old records asking with a record playlist, plenty of board games and even a very old telephone.

A “Stepping back in time” feeling.

Our picture gallery features a few snaps of the hostel and it’s grounds and it’s stunning surroundings, beautiful to come visit in all weathers – all of which have been taken by the hostel’s owner!

WiFi is also available free of charge.
